Blowing Away in the Wind

The wind gushed by,
The rain fell without a pause.
The power of the lights were diminishing
And I tried to save my notes,
From blowing away in the wind.

The huts nearby -
The wind had blown away their roofs,
All of us ran around
To save our homes.
But the rich slept soundly.
They could care no more
When I was trying to save myself
From blowing away in the wind.
Trees fell and buses collapsed,
Men died and babies cried.
But the rich could care no more,
While we tried to save ourselves
From blowing away in the wind.
The sound of the wind passing by
Seemed so soothing to them,
Why so?
For they had with them,
Thick woolen blankets,
To protect themselves,
From the hazardous beasts.
The waters enrobed the ships
And covered the land.
The winds raged in,
Destroying the city
As we tried to save ourselves
From blowing away in the wind.
A peril to us
It had brought,
But once again -
We saved ourselves
from blowing away in the wind.
